Senior Technical Professional - Field Construction

About the role

kbr is hiring a Senior Technical Professional for field construction in Baku, reporting to the Construction Manager. The role supports construction engineering across FEED, detailed design, fabrication, construction, commissioning and handover, mainly for piping, mechanical and structural disciplines, with civil engineering experience an advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Develop construction engineering deliverables and work packages, and prepare and maintain Engineering Work Packages, Construction Work Packages, method statements and execution plans.
• Take part in constructability reviews during FEED and detailed design, and coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Operations teams.
• Review drawings, specifications and vendor documentation for construction risks, and support construction sequences and work methods.
• Monitor fabrication and construction progress, resolve field issues, and interface with fabrication yards, contractors and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, company procedures, codes and standards, and support material management and handover documentation.
• Participate in site visits, contribute to lessons learned, and build strong relationships with the client.

Required profile

• Minimum 5-8 years of construction engineering experience in oil and gas, petrochemical or energy projects.
• Experience supporting construction in mechanical, piping, structural and/or civil disciplines, and in brownfield/greenfield, offshore or onshore settings.
• Previous involvement in constructability reviews, work package development and field engineering support.
• Willingness to travel to fabrication yards, construction sites and project locations.
• Preferred: professional engineering certification, completion and certification systems experience, and Caspian region project experience.

Required skills

• Piping, mechanical equipment installation, structural steel fabrication and erection, and civil construction (preferred)
• Reading P&IDs, isometric, general arrangement, structural and mechanical drawings and 3D models
• Knowledge of construction management systems, EWPs/CWPs and commissioning practices
• Understanding of quality, HSE and regulatory requirements for oil and gas projects
• Proficiency in MS Office and construction project systems
