Project Manager – EPC / EPCM

About the role

SOCAR-KBR is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead Engineering, Engineering & Procurement (E&P), EPCM and PMC projects in the energy, petrochemicals, infrastructure and industrial sectors. The role covers planning, execution, control and delivery of projects according to contractual, safety, quality, schedule and financial requirements, and involves strong leadership and stakeholder management in multicultural, client-facing settings. The position is based in Baku, with travel to project sites as required.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multi-discipline engineering, procurement, EPCM and PMC projects from initiation to close-out, setting execution strategies, delivery plans and objectives.
• Serve as main point of contact for clients, leading review meetings, progress presentations and executive reporting, and resolving issues proactively.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, earned value, invoicing and cash flow, and support contract negotiations, change management and claims avoidance.
• Oversee engineering deliverables, procurement strategies, vendor management and expediting, and coordinate interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Manage owner's engineer, PMC and EPCM teams, monitor contractor performance against KPIs and support project assurance and governance reviews.
• Implement project controls for planning, scheduling, cost and risk, review schedules and cost forecasts, and run risk identification workshops.
• Promote HSSE compliance, lead incident prevention and support investigations.
• Lead and develop project teams, manage resources, conduct performance reviews and mentoring, and support proposals, tender preparation and client engagement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10-15 years of project delivery experience in oil & gas, petrochemicals, energy or industrial sectors.
• Minimum 5 years in a Project Manager or senior project leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience delivering EPC, E&P, EPCM or PMC projects.
• Proven project management experience as PM on offshore O&G brownfield projects on the contractor side, and EPC/EPCM execution experience as PM.
• Fluent English (written and verbal); Azerbaijani and/or Russian is a plus.
• Preferred: experience in Azerbaijan, Caspian, Central Asia, Turkey or the Middle East, knowledge of Azerbaijani regulations, and fluency in Azerbaijani or Turkish.
