Lead Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Backend Engineer to drive the design, development, and delivery of high‑performance, secure Java services. You will mentor a team of engineers, shape architectural decisions, and collaborate closely with product owners, designers, and QA to ensure top‑quality software.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce architecture and design standards for backend systems.
• Conduct code reviews and guarantee that the team delivers clean, maintainable code.
• Mentor engineers and promote continuous learning.
• Work with product owners and designers to prioritize features and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop, modernize, and optimize Java microservices for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Ensure secure, observable, and measurable systems, including downtime planning.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally and participate in Agile ceremonies.
• Partner with QA to deliver error‑free releases.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Deep understanding of OOP principles and Java.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
