Principal Process Engineer

About the role

SKLLC is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to lead the design and specification of equipment, piping, and instrumentation for processing plants in oil & gas, organic chemicals, and refined products. The role is based at the Crescent Business Centre office and involves both small studies and large EPC projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop process simulations, heat and material balances, and utility flow diagrams.
• Create piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and perform equipment sizing calculations for heat exchangers, vessels, reactors, etc.
• Prepare hydraulic calculations for pump and line sizing and specify piping and instrument data.
• Lead technical and techno‑economic studies, and support client specification development.
• Manage a team of up to 10 engineers on large or smaller projects.
• Conduct safety reviews (HazOp, SIL, LOPA) and develop advanced control strategies.

Required profile

• BSc in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience with a major EPC contractor or operator.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of equipment sizing, relief valve calculations, and process safety reviews.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and quality‑focused work habits.

Required skills

• Process simulation tools such as Hysys or Promax.
• COMOS for data management.
• Equipment and vessel sizing calculations.
• Relief valve sizing and hydraulic calculations.
• HazOp, SIL, and LOPA safety analysis.
• Process control and cause‑and‑effect diagram development.
• Technical report writing.
