Mechanical Repair & Documentation Intern

About the role

The internship supports the workshop and repair teams at NOV by assisting technicians, supervisors and project managers with mechanical repair tasks, documentation flow and quality reporting. The role is supervised and provides hands‑on experience in mechanical assembly, inspection and document control within the rig product line.

Key responsibilities

• Assist experienced technicians with assembly, fitting, disassembly, inspection and rework of equipment, following engineering drawings and procedures.
• Support the registration, tracking and distribution of technical documentation to clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Participate in safety, HSEQ and toolbox talks, report non‑conformities and help maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Help compile final documentation packages, maintain the Master Document Register and prepare document status reports under supervision.

Required profile

• Student enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, maintenance, quality or a related field.
• No prior experience required; exposure to workshops, mechanical repair, quality control or project administration is beneficial.
• Good written and oral English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to learn and use document control systems, registers and reporting tools.
