Vessel Operations Engineer

About the role

The Vessel Operations Engineer supports Saipem’s offshore and onshore projects by ensuring the technical integrity of vessel‑based installations. The role bridges engineering design and on‑site execution, advising project managers on best practices, cost‑effective solutions, and compliance with QA/QC and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering reviews and advise on tender and project execution to meet objectives and deadlines.
• Verify technical integrity, cost estimates, and schedule alignment with vessel productivity.
• Support technical tenders, suggest operative solutions, and ensure procedures are efficient and compliant.
• Act as the internal client for project jobs, coordinating with vessel management during critical installation phases.
• Record lessons learned and promote risk‑evaluation meetings with vessel personnel.

Required profile

• Ability to define and verify appropriate equipment and vessel assignments during the engineering design phase.
• Specific knowledge of standards, codes, and regulations applicable to offshore structures.
• Capability to lead and interpret naval and structural analysis for pipeline and offshore platform installations.

What we offer
