Senior Wells Project Engineer

About the role

The Senior Wells Project Engineer manages the delivery of projects by a client-designated engineering subcontractor, overseeing its technical, financial, procurement, construction and handover deliverables. The role is open to Azerbaijani citizens only, involves no travel, and relocation may be negotiable.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify engineering contractor EQs, proposals and orders of magnitude, and approve them at project sanction
• Manage the contractor's cost, schedule and technical delivery, and monitor monthly cost reports
• Develop scope of work packages and manage technical responses during bids
• Support rig engineers and act as client SPA for rig re-certification shutdowns
• Review contractor documentation such as survey reports, technical notes and study reports, and manage comments and distribution
• Manage interfaces with technical authorities, rig operations, planning and integrity teams, and handle deviation requests
• Monitor well schedules, manage project planning and execution, and control design changes within budget

Required profile

• Degree (Higher National Certificate or equivalent) in a relevant field
• Proven experience managing design engineering projects and in brownfield drilling engineering upgrades and modifications
• Excellent verbal and written English, good communication skills and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds
• Microsoft Office literacy
