Electronics Engineer – Offshore Maintenance

About the role

Saipem is seeking an Electronics Engineer to support offshore electrical maintenance on vessels. The role involves coordinating with the electrical team, ensuring compliance with HSE and quality standards, and maintaining the reliability of shipboard equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and report electrical maintenance activities to the Electrical Lead/Chief Engineer.
• Monitor and control on‑board electrical/electronic equipment according to safety procedures.
• Define maintenance priorities, propose schedules and manage material stock levels.
• Ensure all work complies with Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) policies.
• Perform inspections, troubleshooting and repairs on marine electrical systems such as thrusters, ballast pumps, control panels and cranes.

Required profile

• Higher education in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience; offshore construction experience preferred.
• Fluent in English and Azerbaijani.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AC/DC and AC/AC drives (ABB ACS600/800, Siemens Sinamics).
• Experience with Profibus, Ethernet and fiber‑optic data transmission for dynamic positioning vessels.
• Understanding of PLC programming (S5, S7) and hardware layout.
• Electrical power distribution, diesel generator control and switchboard protection.
• Ability to read and create single‑line and functional diagrams.
• Spare‑parts management and client supply‑chain workflow (PR/PO, FAT/SAT).
• Inspection, maintenance and installation of vessel electrical equipment, including wiring and junction boxes.
