About the role

The General Audit Department is seeking a Lead Auditor to conduct audit examinations in line with the audit plan, assess risk management and internal control effectiveness, and ensure compliance with regulatory and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform audit checks according to the audit plan.
• Evaluate management, risk handling, and internal control systems across processes and organizational structures.
• Analyze compliance with regulatory requirements and leading international practices.
• Execute or coordinate audit assignments in line with International Internal Audit Standards.
• Verify adherence to internal policies, procedures, and legislation.
• Maintain continuous communication with management and stakeholders about audit progress.
• Immediately report significant control weaknesses to senior management.
• Organise interviews and final discussions.
• Prepare audit reports and documentation in accordance with methodology.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management or a related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in internal audit or related area.
• Proficiency in Azerbaijani (native), Russian (intermediate), and English (intermediate).
• Strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and result orientation.
• Possession of or pursuit of international professional certifications such as CIA, ACCA, or CFE is an advantage.

Required skills

• High proficiency with MS Office.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and Business Intelligence tools.
• Ability to apply risk‑based audit approaches.
• Experience in preparing and executing audit tests and analysing financial statements.
