Statutory Accountant – German Speaker

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious Statutory Accountant to join our team. In this role you will support the financial department across various European countries and take part in audit processes and year‑end closings.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review all statutory accounting work in the allocated portfolio.
• Prepare monthly tasks such as flux analysis and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze accounts each month to identify unusual transactions and recommend resolutions.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to other statutory accounting staff to meet client deadlines.
• Lead year‑end financial close activities, including US‑to‑local GAAP reconciliations and preparation of local GAAP financial statements.
• Act as the main contact for auditors, preparing the PBC list for quarterly and year‑end audits.
• Assist with ad‑hoc accounting, tax and finance projects as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• 2‑3 years of experience working in accounting.
• Fluency in English (written and verbal) and at least B2 level German.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to organise large data sets and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills and a proactive, supportive attitude.
• Willingness to travel as required by client assignments.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of SAP ERP (required).
• Familiarity with an SSC environment (asset).
