HVAC Commissioning Engineer (Nationals Only)

About the role

The HVAC Commissioning Engineer will lead the commissioning execution and assurance of HVAC systems, ensuring high standards in health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE) and quality. This role works across engineering, construction, commissioning, QA/QC, and operations to guarantee that HVAC equipment is fabricated, installed, tested, and commissioned to client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate personal HSSE leadership and promote safe behaviours on site.
• Support the Mechanical Commissioning Lead in scope of work, schedule development and contractor selection.
• Oversee HVAC fabrication and construction activities, including installation, preservation, inspection, testing, reinstatement and final hand‑over.
• Review engineering documents and provide a commissioning perspective.
• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for HVAC equipment.
• Specify and raise purchase orders for hand tools, test equipment, commissioning spares and first fills.
• Identify temporary system requirements and approve contractor procedures for installation and commissioning.
• Develop and execute Commissioning Test Procedures (CTP) and compile Installation Test Reports (ITR).

Required profile

• High‑level communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to lead field execution and give clear technical direction across multiple disciplines.
• Strong planning, problem‑solving and reporting capabilities.
• Significant experience in HVAC equipment commissioning.
• Higher education combined with extensive HVAC commissioning background.
• Working knowledge of HVAC codes, standards, project specifications and permit‑to‑work processes.
• Experience interfacing with design, construction, commissioning contractors and operations teams.
• Familiarity with HSSE issues on‑site and client construction & commissioning practices.
• Hands‑on experience with gas compressors, centrifugal and reciprocating pumps and related auxiliary systems.
