National Consultant on Women’s Economic Empowerment

About the role

UN Women is seeking a National Consultant in Azerbaijan to support the third phase of the Women’s Economic Empowerment in the South Caucasus (WEESC III) project. The consultant will work closely with the Programme Specialist to provide technical assistance to private sector companies, helping them adopt gender‑responsive policies and integrate women‑owned enterprises into their supply chains.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical support to medium‑ and large‑sized companies operating in or linked to rural supply chains.
• Raise awareness of and facilitate the adoption of the UN Women/UN Global Compact Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs).
• Assist companies in developing and implementing gender‑responsive corporate policies and practices.
• Promote the inclusion of women‑owned and collective enterprises in corporate supply chains.
• Prepare reports and updates for the Programme Specialist and project partners.

Required profile

• National of Azerbaijan with strong knowledge of the local economic and gender context.
• Experience in gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, or related development fields.
• Proven ability to work with private‑sector stakeholders and deliver policy‑oriented technical assistance.
• Excellent communication skills in Azerbaijani and English.
