About the role

The bank is seeking a senior internal auditor to participate in the execution of annual, follow‑up and special audit projects in line with the approved audit plan and the Audit Committee’s mandate. The role involves preparing work programs, conducting audit procedures, and reporting findings to project leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the preparation of audit work programs and execute audit procedures, including interviews with business process owners and data analysis.
• Identify control deficiencies, document findings, and regularly inform the project manager about identified issues.
• Prepare written work papers summarising field analyses and interviews.
• Support the project manager in drafting audit reports and monitor the implementation of corrective action plans.
• Assist the Internal Audit Department Director in preparing summary reports and retain‑management work‑time allocation reports.

Required profile

• Higher education in economics or law (or at least 4 years of relevant experience if no degree).
• Minimum 2 years of audit experience or equivalent experience in finance, risk management, control, operations or credit functions within a bank.
• Knowledge of sector‑specific regulations and normative legal documents, especially in banking or insurance, is an advantage.

Required skills

• Data analysis and ability to work with SQL (preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating environment and related software.
• Strong communication and discussion abilities.
• Fluent Azerbaijani and business‑level English.
• Professional certifications such as CIA, FRM, CFA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA are desirable.
