Engineering Manager

About the role

Toptal is seeking a hands‑on Engineering Manager to lead a high‑velocity team building an AI‑powered data platform. The role is fully remote and focuses on delivering advanced tools that help companies make smarter, faster decisions. You will work closely with engineers, designers, product managers, architects, and executives to shape the product and drive revenue impact.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of senior engineers developing AI‑enabled data and analytics tools.
• Set clear goals, track progress, and ensure high‑quality output.
• Facilitate technical discussions, code reviews, and maintain coding standards.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to align technical work with business objectives.
• Create a productive, enjoyable remote work environment and provide regular feedback.
• Participate in performance reviews and support career growth of team members.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience managing software engineering teams in a remote setting.
• Strong technical depth with the ability to contribute hands‑on when needed.
• Passion for AI‑assisted development workflows and staying on the cutting edge of technology.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
