Tax Specialist

About the role

The Tax Specialist will ensure accurate preparation and filing of all statutory tax reports, support the accounting team on tax matters, and act as a liaison with tax authorities. This role is essential for maintaining compliance across multiple tax types and contributing to the month‑end close process.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit tax reports for Mining Tax, VAT, WHT, Road Tax, Property Tax, and Profit Tax.
• Generate statistical reports required by state bodies.
• Review foreign invoices for WHT calculation and reporting.
• Analyze local invoices to identify non‑deductible expenses.
• Support the accounting team on tax‑related queries.
• Prepare tax payments and reconcile accrued versus paid tax.
• Participate in month‑end closing activities.
• Assist the Tax Manager during annual external audits.
• Contribute to transfer‑pricing studies and country‑by‑country reporting.
• Respond to letters and requests from tax authorities.
• Report any inconsistencies directly to the CFO.
• Adhere to company safety rules and regulations.
