Student Affairs Specialist (Full‑time, temporary)

About the role

The Student Affairs Specialist supports the academic and social life of students at UFAZ, a joint Azerbaijan‑France university project. This full‑time, fixed‑term role (2 years) reports to the Head of the Education Department and ensures smooth administration of admissions, registration, and student services.

Key responsibilities

• Implement policies for admissions, course registration, absences, graduations, petitions and withdrawals.
• Update the UFAZ Student Management System (UMS) with enrollment data.
• Plan, organise and oversee student‑focused events while respecting budget limits.
• Inform students about conduct codes, examination rules and university regulations.
• Advise students on programme matters, timetable changes and orientation activities.
• Liaise with teachers to resolve academic issues.
• Monitor student clubs, unions and overall student life.
• Communicate with parents and report serious student issues to the department head.
• Maintain document turnover, prepare official statistics and archive student records.
• Translate documents between English, Azerbaijani and Russian.
• Provide administrative support for university events and visiting professors.

Required profile

• Experience in higher‑education administration or student services.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work closely with academic staff and external partners.
• Attention to detail for document management and statistical reporting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Student Management System (UMS).
• Fluent translation skills in English, Azerbaijani and Russian.
