Risk Specialist

About the role

The Baku Stock Exchange is looking for a qualified Risk Specialist to lead and maintain its risk management frameworks. You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies while identifying, monitoring, and mitigating potential risks across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply risk identification, assessment, and monitoring methodologies for operational and market risk.
• Analyze business processes to detect risk exposures and propose mitigation measures.
• Design, test, and continuously improve internal risk control mechanisms.
• Collect, consolidate, and analyze key risk indicator (KRI) data, preparing regular and ad‑hoc risk reports for management.
• Assess risks of new products, services, and initiatives before launch and provide recommendations.
• Support the development and maintenance of the risk map, Risk Appetite Statement, and related documentation.
• Track risk limits and thresholds, escalating breaches or emerging trends promptly.
• Monitor market risk exposures on local and international exchanges in line with global standards.
• Ensure compliance with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, FIMSA, and other applicable legislation.
• Monitor regulatory changes and international standards (e.g., Basel, IOSCO) and implement relevant requirements.
• Promote risk awareness and culture through training and internal communications.
• Conduct ongoing compliance monitoring of structural units against risk policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Qualified risk specialist with proven experience in risk management frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Azerbaijani financial regulations, Central Bank requirements, and FIMSA.
• Familiarity with international risk standards such as Basel principles and IOSCO recommendations.
• Ability to analyze business processes, develop mitigation strategies, and produce clear risk reports.
