Research Engineer – Chemistry (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of French‑Azerbaijani (UFAZ) seeks a full‑time Research Engineer to support its Chemistry and Chemical Engineering department. The role involves managing analytical instruments, conducting experiments, and assisting Master and PhD students with their research projects.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation, maintenance, and repair of analytical instruments (GC, GC‑MS, ICP‑MS, LC‑MS, HPLC, PXRD).
• Design, execute, and optimise experiments using laboratory equipment.
• Schedule and coordinate analyses for internal and external researchers and graduate students.
• Provide training and support on instrument use and maintenance.
• Maintain inventory of chemicals, reagents, and supplies, and place orders as needed.
• Record, report, and assist with interpretation of analytical data.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and institutional policies.
• Monitor technological advances and implement improvements to laboratory efficiency.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Experience in a research or industrial laboratory setting.
• Familiarity with laboratory management systems and data handling.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
