Occupational Health & Safety Manager

About the role

Masdar is seeking an Occupational Health & Safety Manager to lead environmental and social (H&S) studies for its renewable energy projects and to ensure compliance throughout project delivery and asset management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead H&S support for construction and operation phases, balancing in‑house and external providers to achieve cost efficiency and knowledge transfer.
• Develop and implement procedures for commissioning H&S consultants, supervise their work, and maintain a vetted consultant list.
• Oversee H&S studies such as ESSR, ESIA, stakeholder engagement, LRP/RAP, community development plans, and E&S monitoring.
• Participate in contract negotiations (EPC, O&M, PPA) to embed relevant H&S standards from international financiers.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Health, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Social Sciences or equivalent.
• 8‑10 years of H&S experience, including at least 3 years on internationally funded projects in emerging markets.
• Background as a consultant, client, or lender representative in the renewable or traditional energy sector.

Required skills

• Expertise in ESSR, ESIA, stakeholder engagement, LRP/RAP, community development planning, and E&S monitoring.
• Knowledge of IFC Performance Standards, World Bank, AfDB, and Equator Principles requirements.
• Strong ability to manage external consultants and prioritize actions.
