Tech Lead – Retail Platforms

About the role

We are looking for a Tech Lead to drive the design and implementation of backend solutions for our Retail Platforms tribe. In this senior position you will work closely with engineers and the Chapter Lead to ensure the architecture is robust, scalable and aligned with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑performance, scalable backend services.
• Ensure system reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate with the Chapter Lead and engineering team on best practices and technical strategy.
• Participate in architectural discussions and make key technical decisions.
• Improve existing systems to increase availability and robustness.
• Contribute across the full development lifecycle from concept to production deployment.
• Promote best coding practices, including testing and automated deployment.
• Work with product and business teams to align technical solutions with company objectives.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend development experience on high‑performance applications.
• Strong expertise in system design and scalable architecture.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands‑on experience with microservices, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
• Experience with event‑driven architectures using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
