Senior Chapter Lead - Development

About the role

We are seeking a senior engineering leader to own the craft, people, and delivery quality of our Development discipline – Backend, Web, and Mobile – across multiple product teams. This leader‑of‑leaders position combines strategic oversight with occasional hands‑on involvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow Development Chapter Leads across Backend, Web, and Mobile.
• Own hiring and performance evaluation for the development chapters and the platform team.
• Set and scale engineering standards, including architecture, code quality, review practices, and quality gates.
• Direct the adoption of our internal developer platform (Backstage) with golden paths, templates, and self‑service.
• Partner with Tribe Leads on release predictability, technical risk, and delivery quality.
• Help lead engineering guilds to align cross‑team practices.

Required profile

• 7‑9+ years in software development, including 4‑5+ years leading engineers.
• Proven product‑team experience with direct delivery accountability.
• Deep mastery of at least one core stack (Java preferred) with breadth across others.
• Track record of developing people and scaling practices across multiple teams.
• Working proficiency in English.
