Project Associate – Women’s Economic Empowerment

About the role

The Project Associate will support UN Women’s Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) portfolio in Azerbaijan, focusing on projects that promote women’s participation in the world of work and private‑sector engagement. Reporting to the Women’s Economic Empowerment Programme Specialist, the Associate will work closely with programme and operations teams in Azerbaijan, Georgia and the UN Women Europe and Central Asia Regional Office.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative and logistical support for the preparation of work plans, budgets and project proposals.
• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of programme activities, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with UN Women guidelines.
• Offer technical guidance to the Country Office and executing agencies on routine delivery, financial tracking and reporting.
• Prepare documentation for audits, compile audit information and support the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Coordinate with partners, responsible parties and internal units to facilitate smooth programme delivery.

Required profile

• National of Azerbaijan with a strong interest in gender equality and women’s economic empowerment.
• Experience in programme administration, project support or related fields within an international development context.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple offices and with diverse stakeholders.
