Line‑up Operator – Offshore Pipe Assembly

About the role

Saipem is seeking a Line‑up Operator to support pipe movements and fit‑up operations in offshore prefabrication areas. The role involves operating various handling equipment safely while adhering to HSE procedures on a 28‑day on/28‑day off rotation.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out pipe movements and fit‑up operations on the prefabrication and line‑up stations, including J‑Lay tower assembly.
• Operate pipeline conveyors, transfer cars, clamps, support pipe rollers and ILUC winches safely following HSE guidelines.
• Report equipment malfunctions to the mechanic department and ensure proper use of green/red lights according to work phases.
• Participate in Tool‑Box Talks, Job Safety Analyses and fully comply with Saipem’s HSEQ policies.

Required profile

• Technical education with relevant work experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Intermediate English and fluent Azerbaijani language skills.
• Ability to apply safety practices, use Permit‑to‑Work systems and wear protective equipment.
• Proactive attitude toward learning and improving personal competencies.

Required skills

• Operation of pipe movement and fit‑up equipment.
• Handling of pipeline conveyors and transfer cars.
• Clamp operation in J‑Lay tower assembly stations.
• Use of support pipe rollers and ILUC winches.
• Knowledge of Permit‑to‑Work procedures.
