Power and Automation Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Power and Automation Engineer to provide specialized technical support for power, electrical, automation and dynamic positioning (DP) systems on offshore vessels and related equipment. The role involves ensuring safe, reliable and cost‑effective execution of projects in line with company, client and classification society standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop feasibility studies, technical proposals, conceptual designs and engineering packages for vessel upgrades, new installations and equipment mobilisation.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables such as electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams, cable schedules, load calculations and control philosophies.
• Lead technical evaluation of vendor offers, prepare procurement documentation and support the procurement process.
• Coordinate engineering interfaces with internal teams, vendors, shipyards and classification societies throughout project phases.
• Provide technical follow‑up during detailed engineering, manufacturing, site acceptance tests, commissioning, sea trials and project close‑out.

Required profile

• Higher education in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within oil and gas construction.
• Fluent in English and Azerbaijani.
• Proven ability to perform electrical maintenance activities and organise worksite tooling, HSE analysis and workflow reporting.
