Head of Finance & Chief Accountant

About the role

We are a fast‑growing trading platform seeking a senior finance leader to design, implement and oversee our accounting and reporting framework, ensuring compliance with international and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement accounting and financial policies, reporting framework aligned with IFRS, local accounting law and CBAR requirements.
• Oversee preparation of financial statements, tax declarations, CBAR periodic reports and other regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Support financial planning, budgeting and forecasting in coordination with the General Director.
• Establish and maintain internal controls, coordinate external audit and tax inspections, and represent the company before tax authorities and CBAR.
• Identify and escalate financial, reporting and tax compliance risks, and ensure AML/CFT record‑keeping obligations are met.
• Lead the accounting and finance team, allocate work, supervise execution and maintain professional accountant status.

Required profile

• University degree and professional accountant certificate (PMS) with active membership in an accredited accountancy organisation.
• Minimum five years of accounting/finance experience, at least three years in a chief accountant or senior finance managerial role, preferably in a regulated financial institution.
• Strong practical knowledge of IFRS‑based reporting, Azerbaijani accounting and tax legislation, CBAR reporting for investment companies and AML/CFT requirements.
• Proven experience with the full tax reporting cycle, state portals and electronic invoicing (EQF).
• Fluent in Azerbaijani and good written/spoken English; international qualifications (ACCA, DipIFR, CIMA, CPA, CFA) are a plus.
