Telecoms Engineer (Nationals Only)

About the role

The Telecoms Engineer will work alongside the SDC Telecoms Commissioning Lead to ensure safe and efficient delivery of both Greenfield and Brownfield commissioning activities. This role involves overseeing contractors, managing acceptance tests, and coordinating with operations teams to bring telecom systems to operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Commissioning Lead in developing statements of work and schedules.
• Review and comment on engineering contractors’ documents from a commissioning perspective.
• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and specify required telecom tools, equipment, and spares.
• Create and maintain LOSH/LOSSH documentation for telecom systems.
• Develop, review, and execute Commissioning Test Procedures (CTP) for both Greenfield and Brownfield projects.
• Oversee contractor execution of Mechanical Completion (MC) and commissioning activities, ensuring proper hand‑over to operations.
• Ensure all commissioning personnel are trained and comply with site PTW and HSSE procedures.
• Respond to engineering queries, coordinate with design contractors, and compile Installation Test Reports (ITR).

Required profile

• Higher education with extensive experience commissioning telecom equipment.
• Proven ability to interface with design, construction, and commissioning contractors.
• Strong understanding of HSSE requirements for on‑site activities.
• Familiarity with client construction and commissioning standards for Greenfield and Brownfield projects.
• Experience managing diverse workforces is highly desirable.
