Telecoms Commissioning Engineer – Offshore Project

About the role

The Telecoms Commissioning Engineer will support the Shah Deniz Compression (SDC) project, delivering safe and efficient commissioning of telecoms systems for both greenfield and brownfield installations. Based in Baku and offshore, the role works closely with the Telecoms Commissioning Lead and operations teams to ensure readiness and handover of telecoms equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Telecoms Commissioning Lead in developing scope of work, schedules and reviewing contractor documents.
• Attend and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for telecoms equipment.
• Specify required telecoms tools, equipment and spares, and assist with purchase orders.
• Develop and execute Commissioning Test Procedures (CTP) for telecoms systems in greenfield and brownfield areas.
• Oversee contractor execution of mechanical completion and commissioning activities.
• Compile and manage Installation, Test, and Release (ITR) documentation.
• Promote HSE leadership and ensure compliance with BP construction and commissioning standards.

Required profile

• Higher education with extensive experience in telecoms equipment commissioning.
• Proven ability to interface with design, construction, commissioning contractors and operations teams.
• Strong understanding of HSSE requirements for on‑site activities.
• Experience with diverse workforces and international standards for construction quality.
