Head of IT Governance

About the role

The Head of IT Governance will design, implement and continuously improve a compliance framework that ensures the organisation meets regulatory and internal standards, especially in data protection and privacy. The role works closely with operations, legal and functional teams to embed strong internal controls across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and evolve IT governance frameworks aligned with COBIT, ITIL and ISO 27001.
• Establish policies, procedures and standards for IT decision‑making, steering committees and approval processes.
• Collaborate with the CTO and senior leadership to set IT strategy and priorities.
• Define, monitor and report IT performance metrics and KPIs to executive leadership.
• Ensure IT investments deliver measurable business value and ROI (FinOps).
• Coordinate with Risk and Compliance teams on IT‑related risks and regulatory requirements.
• Manage internal and external IT audit processes and respond to regulatory examinations.
• Develop governance dashboards, conduct maturity assessments and drive improvement plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience implementing ISO 27001 in a large‑scale enterprise (certification preferred).
• Strong knowledge of risk frameworks and standards such as COBIT, COSO, SOC 2, ITIL.
• Experience creating IT and cybersecurity policies and translating regulatory requirements into technical controls.
• Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work flexibly across a global, multinational organisation.
