Enterprise Architect

About the role

We are looking for an Enterprise Architect to own the architecture of major initiatives end‑to‑end – from the initial solution concept through architectural decision‑making, delivery, and verification in production. This is a hands‑on role where you will work closely with engineering and delivery teams, build prototypes, and use modern AI and agentic development tools as part of your daily workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Own solution and enterprise architecture for major initiatives across the bank and the Bir Ecosystem, defining scope, integration points, target architecture and delivery feasibility.
• Develop, present and defend architecture decisions to the Architecture Committee and ensure they are followed through implementation.
• Maintain current and target‑state architecture views, including systems, API contracts, data flows and dependencies.
• Review solution designs from delivery teams to ensure technical feasibility, platform alignment, security and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain architecture decision records, landscape documentation and the architecture asset catalogue.
• Contribute to the bank’s AI transformation of software delivery, incorporating agentic AI into architecture and development processes.
• Serve as the primary architecture point of contact for engineering teams and resolve design‑related questions efficiently.

Required profile

• 7+ years of IT experience, including at least 3 years as a Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect in banking, fintech or a large‑scale product company.
• Proven experience owning architecture for large‑scale, distributed, high‑load systems, microservices, API‑first integration, event streaming and modern data platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to present, explain and defend architecture decisions to committees and business stakeholders.
• Strong practical experience with architecture documentation such as decision records, landscape diagrams and integration specifications.
• Professional working proficiency in at least two of Azerbaijani, Russian and English; fluency in all three is a strong advantage.
• Based in Baku or willing to relocate.
