Development Planner (6-month contract)

About the role

The Development Planner will own and deliver the Company’s doubling programme across two fields within Reservoir Development. Reporting to the VP Reservoir Development, this senior, hands‑on position translates strategic objectives into an integrated, sequenced activity plan and drives execution alongside wells, drilling and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own the integrated development plan and activity sequence across drilling, workovers, artificial lift, water‑flood, EOR and surveillance.
• Maintain the schedule, track progress and act as the single owner of programme status.
• Balance the plan with rig, crew and resource availability, ensuring demand and supply alignment.
• Convert reservoir targets and well inventories into a scheduled programme with defined dates, owners and dependencies.
• Re‑plan activities when delays occur and promptly escalate blockers.
• Ensure alignment with production targets and reserves progression.
• Provide a consolidated view of programme progress to leadership and fortnightly production reviews.
• Support tender evaluation and well sequencing activities with wells and operations teams.

Required profile

• Strong, experienced engineer with proven development planning and delivery background.
• Experience in multi‑rig campaign planning and delivery across drilling, workovers and interventions.
• Fluent across reservoir engineering and well delivery, able to interpret subsurface plans and rig schedules together.
• Demonstrated ability to drive execution across disciplines and hold teams accountable.
• Discipline in scheduling, prioritisation, dependency management and progress tracking.
• Hands‑on, delivery‑focused approach with credibility among directors and operations teams.
