Central Asia Product Development Specialist

About the role

The Product Development Specialist for Central Asia will ensure that vegetable seed varieties are properly trialed, evaluated, positioned and prepared for market launch in Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and other priority countries. The role blends field trial management with market analysis and strong stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and follow up product trials in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, visiting trial sites regularly and evaluating variety performance under local conditions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, growers, dealers, nurseries and other local stakeholders.
• Report trial results, photos, grower feedback and competitor comparisons using internal digital systems.
• Analyze variety strengths and weaknesses to define positioning for specific customer segments.
• Monitor market needs, competitor varieties and commercial opportunities, providing technical product information and positioning support.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in vegetable seeds, agriculture, horticulture, agronomy, product development, technical sales or field trials.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agronomy, Plant Science, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering or a related field.
• Strong field orientation with a willingness to travel regularly (≈40%+) across the region.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills across cultures and stakeholder groups.
• Ability to turn trial observations into clear product recommendations and market insights.
