Senior Cyber Defense (SOC) Manager

About the role

Bir ecosystem is looking for a senior leader to drive the evolution of its cyber defence capabilities. The role focuses on building and maturing security monitoring, detection engineering, incident response and threat hunting across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve SOC architecture and security monitoring solutions across on‑prem, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Lead the creation and optimisation of SIEM use cases, detection content, correlation rules and automated response workflows.
• Oversee advanced threat‑hunting initiatives and translate findings into measurable security improvements.
• Drive security automation and orchestration to increase SOC efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, application and security engineering teams to embed secure design and controls.
• Provide technical direction during major security incidents and mentor SOC analysts and engineers.

Required profile

• 4‑5 years of experience in cyber security, SOC operations, detection engineering, incident response or threat hunting.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security operations, attack methodologies, threat actors and incident response frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS, threat intelligence platforms and related technologies.
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27001 and PCI‑DSS.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., GCIA, GCIH, GMON, BTL2, CISSP, CEH) are a plus.
