Senior AI Engineer

About the role

DataSpecta is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join its enterprise delivery practice in Baku. You will design, build, and maintain AI agents, retrieval systems, and document generation pipelines for large‑scale enterprise AI estates.

Key responsibilities

• Build tool‑calling agents and multi‑step workflows with human‑in‑the‑loop checkpoints.
• Implement end‑to‑end retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, from parsing to reranking and citation.
• Integrate agents with SAP, SuccessFactors, email and internal APIs, and expose capabilities as MCP servers.
• Develop template‑based Word, Excel and PowerPoint generation and own prompt versioning, production promotion and runbooks.
• Instrument agents with tracing, diagnose production failures and perform root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Based in Baku or willing to relocate.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience and at least 2 years delivering LLM or agent systems to production.
• Fluent English.

Required skills

• Python (asyncio, FastAPI, Pydantic, pytest).
• Production‑grade agent orchestration framework.
• Hybrid retrieval with reranking, vector store, and CI/CD tools (Git, Docker, CI).
• Experience with MCP/A2A, document generation libraries (python‑docx, openpyxl, python‑pptx).
• Self‑hosted LLM serving (vLLM, TGI, Ollama) and SAP/OData integration.
• Tracing and observability (OpenTelemetry, Langfuse).
