Cyber Security Architecture Senior Engineer (Staff)

About the role

Azercell is seeking a senior engineer to lead the design, implementation and governance of its cyber security architecture, covering network, cloud, AI/ML and Zero‑Trust environments.

Key responsibilities

• Review existing security technologies, identify gaps and develop targeted solutions to protect systems and data.
• Lead the full lifecycle of security tools from proof‑of‑concept testing to production hand‑over.
• Implement and tune advanced protection policies for WAF and APM solutions.
• Design and advocate Zero‑Trust architecture across network, identity and application layers.
• Define and govern security architecture for cloud (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) workloads.
• Identify and mitigate AI‑specific threats, secure ML pipelines and enforce AI security review gates.
• Architect ML‑based detection capabilities using anomaly detection and clustering techniques.

Required profile

• Higher education in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, system or network administration.
• Strong written and verbal communication in Azerbaijani and English; Russian is a plus.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA, RHCSA, CySA+, CISSP, CISM are preferred.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and Application Performance Management (APM) tools.
• Zero‑Trust architecture design, segmentation and least‑privilege access models.
• Cloud security for IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments.
• AI/ML security, LLM guardrail/firewall products and red‑team frameworks (Garak, PyRIT).
• Model Context Protocol, OAuth‑based authorization design.
• Windows and Linux system administration, network administration.
• Knowledge of NIST, ISO, GDPR and PCI‑DSS compliance frameworks.
