About the role

The bank is looking for a Data Engineer to design, model and optimise its data warehouses and data marts, and to ensure seamless data flow from multiple source systems into reporting tools and Big Data environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, model, optimise and support data warehouses and data marts.
• Collect, transform and prepare data from various bank databases and systems for reporting.
• Configure and maintain ETL and other data‑engineering tools.
• Analyse and resolve complex data issues within a Big Data ecosystem (desired).
• Configure virtualization and related data‑engineering tools and provide support.
• Enable integration of bank data into Big Data platforms (desired).

Required profile

• Higher technical or economic education.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with relational and non‑relational database design and modelling.
• Conceptual knowledge of data analytics and ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data.
• Background in data science, statistics and distributed computing for analytics.
• Proficiency in Python or Scala.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries (Oracle PL/SQL preferred).
• Experience with real‑time streaming technologies such as Kafka or Spark Streaming (preferred).
• Familiarity with Big Data tools like Hive, Spark, Hadoop, Presto (desired).
• Knowledge of containerisation (Kubernetes, Docker) and CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins) (desired).
