Laboratory and QC Supervisor

About the role

The Laboratory and QC Supervisor will lead the daily operations of SICPA’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control laboratories. This position ensures analytical testing meets the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while supporting continuous improvement across the lab environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define, implement, and maintain processes, procedures and supporting systems for QA/QC laboratory management.
• Execute analytical methods for QA/QC tests and continuously improve standard operating procedures.
• Lead and supervise laboratory technicians, providing training and performance oversight.
• Manage relationships with local logistics and service partners and maintain instrument performance records.
• Organise proficiency testing for individual QA/QC labs and coordinate preventive maintenance programs.
• Calculate corrective injection values to maintain prescribed marking levels.
• Provide analytical expertise to mobile laboratories and liaise with R&D for method improvements.
• Ensure compliance with SICPA health, safety, and environmental policies and contribute to policy development.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in analytical laboratory management within the petroleum, petrochemical or energy sector.
• Fluency in English and Azerbaijani (written and spoken).
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership abilities.
• Team‑oriented mindset with the capacity to work under pressure and manage priorities.

Required skills

• Energy Dispersive X‑Ray Spectrometry (EDX) expertise.
• Operation and maintenance of XRF equipment.
• Implementation of analytical methods for QA/QC testing.
• Laboratory management and SOP development.
• Proficiency testing coordination.
• Preventive maintenance planning.
• Corrective injection calculation for marking levels.
